Well, this update, while convenient from the armour collector's point of view (I myself am now considering getting the 15k Knights Armor), however, this is just going to further cripple the already wounded economy.
With large numbers of people going and buying insignias (the only way to improve your armour now), the price of many of them will go up. This price increase will then eat further into the already lowering amount of money that most people now have.
In order to compensate, they are going to have to increase the drop rate of many insignias (Bloodstained and Radiant for example) so that the prices don't rise higher than the cost of the armour (basic max now costs 1k + materials per piece).
EDIT: Bah, just got some clarification

Horrible update on the part of reward points. Not to mention the couple of skins I unlocked looked like absolute garbage but the fact that once the character is deleted you cant recreate them and even if you keep the character then you cant change the mods you had when you upgraded it.

Anet did VERY good with the rewards!!! People, you aren't going to get every cool skin for every profession in the game. Pick your favorite profession, spend a character slot to save him permanently, and bam, you can earn a ton of leet skins on that character. Elite skins aren't meant to be unlocked, but earned. If you have a 15^50 +30 HP Vampiric Fellblade, why should you get a 15^50 +30 HP Zealous one as well? Also, this prevents the UAX problem with balthazar faction from ever showing up... you CAN'T unlock everything, you can always upgrade another weapon so you get it in different varieties. I am glad that they aren't just letting you unlock a fellblade for your warrior then make one for every character you ever play as ever again. And since PvP characters can roll new builds, armor sets, weapon sets, WHATEVER they ever could possibly need, there is NO excuse for saying "omg pvp characters are meant to be deleted and rerolled" because that is a thing of the past (if you want cool skins at least). Good work Anet for not screwing up this change! To people not grateful that Anet offers them new rewards... QQ more!
HOWEVER... 50 unlocks to reach the next tier is harsh. That takes 5,000 reward points to reach the next armor tier. Just too much IMO. 20 or so would be more appropriate.

Sweet! So wait, my temp PvP char .. that I use to pvp.. I can now get what, FoW armor on him? and like a Zodiac sword and make him look like a pve warrior?
I erase my pvp char like 3 times a day lol.. why the hell do I care what he/she looks like while pvping? So now I can spend points and have a larger e-peen in PvP from what I look like? Seriously If I want e-peen in pvp Ill just play a pve char in pvp. lol.. upgradeing my pvp with "Nicer "looking" " stuff its retarted..
lol back to buying Japan mini pets, and re-selling them to people who ebay gold!
I love a.net.. allways good for a laugh.

The PVP rewards being temporary and only for that one PVP character who unlocked it is just plain stupid. What's the point?

A large, and generally pretty good update. I know that a lot of people were hoping to see insignia-able armor in chapters 1 & 2.
Still, I can't help but being monumentally disappointed that soul reaping remains broken.

Your missing the point. I'll put it into PvE terms so you can understand. Say you buy your tormented shield, but as soon as you go and buy another shield, anet deletes it. Thats what the reward system does.
Get it?

This sucked out some new-found fun for me. Here I thought I would be able to get Zodiac weapons for my toons and heroes, but not any more.
And the fact that they didn't even mention it on the official notes (it's found on the wiki notes) really makes it bad. It's like ANet was trying to stab us in the back, hoping we wouldn't notice it. At least tell us you're doing it, instead of being all sneaky about it. You're taking away some fun for me and losing my trust and faith in you at the same time, ANet. And I'm sure I'm not the only one upset by it.

And there would be whiners like you who complain that others aren't earning their 50 dollars.

Oh so because I have intelligence and I am not a whiner, I am a PvEer? lol
Dude. Your analogy makes no sense. YOUR SHIELD ISN'T GOING TO BE DELETED! You can make AS MANY AS YOU WANT! You have inventory, you have a xunlai agent. Go make a ton of shields and stuff. Just because you insist on deleting your character every day as many times as you can does not mean Anet is to blame. Stop deleting and you are good to go... lol.
Your analogy is more like "Say you buy your tormented shield, leave it on your character, delete it, then get pissed off at Anet because of it." THAT is what the reward system does. Cry more?

Well, you can re-create the mods on your upgraded weapon, but you only get them one weapon at a time, and most egregiously, they delete with your character. So yeah, just about completely pointless, for many its easier to PvE grind for items they want stuck on an inflexible character slot.

Xunlai is worthless because all PvP items are automatically customized, you therefore can't dump them. (And you couldn't use them competitively if they *werent* customized anyway...)
